Actor Vincent D’Onofrio, best known for his roles in the film “Full Metal Jacket” and the TV series “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” will show off a different side of his talent with the premiere of his directorial debut during the Sarasota Film Festival.

Lately, it seems major films are being pushed onto video in a slipshod manner. Extras are skimpy and unenlightening, as if the studio couldn’t be bothered to take the time or spend the money. (Yeah, I’m talking to you, “Where the Wild Things Are.”)

Allrecipes, which bills itself as “the world’s No. 1 food site,” has taken its iPhone recipe application and, apologies to Emeril Lagasse, kicked it up a notch.

Time to go green!
And what better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than holding something cold, green and alcoholic in your hands. It’s better than hanging out and getting pinched for not wearing the right jade-colored attire.

During a quiet moment in “I’m All Over It,” the lead single from his third album, “The Pursuit,” Jamie Cullum adopts the air of a vulnerable man. “One dark morning,” he sings, reaching into his falsetto, “she left without a warning.” He sounds believably hurt, but only for an instant, and then he’s back to his spiel about moving on.
